WHAT:
An opportunity to experience many of the disciplines of adventure racing as a timed event!
This event is the result of the combined effort of three of the more established adventure racing teams in the Midwest.
Teams Master Lock/Albatross, Vyster, and Ya Mule have joined forces to help promote the sport of adventure racing and also to see if we can help raise a little money for a charitible cause related to adventure racing.
If you'd like to get a feel for what this event will be like, see Adventure Day 2007.
However, as with most adventure races, be aware that this year's course will be different and will have it's own unique twists, turns, and surprises.
WHY:
Because we can, and so can you! We want to give people a chance to see what adventure racing is about.
The unfortunate cancellation of the Fall Classic has left a void in the adventure racing calendar. We're hoping to fill that void this year just like we did last year, and also in the future.
WHO:
ANYONE! This event will be an excellent opportunity for beginners, but will also be challenging enough so that experienced individuals will have a good time and work up a sweat.
We will provide waivers to sign at the race, but please read ahead of time to speed-up check-in.
(Must have parental/guardian approval signature prior to event if under 18 years of age.)
Due to the small window of opportunity available to organize this event, please email Mike if you intend to register so that we can adequately prepare for the day.
It would be very helpful if you could answer the following questions in your email:
- How many people on your team?
- Do you have a team leader (i.e. someone with adventure racing and/or orienteering experience)?
- Would you like to combine with other participants to form a larger team (max. 4 person)?
- Do you have a canoe/kayak (along with paddles and PFDs) for your team?
- When do you plan to send your registration form/payment in?
