Mini MASH 2009 - Info

• WHAT:
  The Mini version of Mule Adventures Spring Haze (MASH)!   This event is being held in place of Mini Mad Dash which was successfully run by Adventure North for six years.   Our friends Tammy and Leo Grant (Adventure North) have moved to Michigan and are taking some time off from hosting races.   However, they have been kind enough to offer their help from afar to keep an early season race on the schedule.   We're confident that with their guidance and our experience directing two Adventure Days (2007, 2008), we can put on a quality event at a very reasonable price.  
• WHEN:
  Saturday May 2nd, 2009
• WHERE:
  Lake Farm County Park Shelter #2  (maps and camping info at this link).
• WHY:
  Because we can, and so can you!   The unfortunate departure of Mini Mad Dash has left a void in the adventure racing calendar especially for those who are looking to try their first adventure race.   We're hoping to fill that void this year and also into the future.
• WHO:
  ANYONE who is in reasonable physical condition!   Those who have adventure raced before will be better off; but if you can trail run 1 mile, bike 15 miles, paddle for 1 hour, and read a map, you will probably be able to complete this race.   However, if you want to do well and/or reduce your level of discomfort, you'd be wise to train beyond those levels.   We will likely include a short orienteering course just to give teams a feel for orienteering.   We would also hold a brief orienteering clinic beforehand if teams express interest.

  We will provide this waiver to sign at the race, but please read ahead of time to speed-up check-in.
  (Must have parental/guardian approval signature prior to event if under 18 years of age.)
  
  Due to the relatively tight timeline for this event, please email Mike if you intend to register so that we can adequately prepare for the day.   It would be very helpful if you could answer the following questions in your email:
    - Have you completed an adventure race or triathlon before?
    - Do you have a team (if so, please provide team name)?
    - If you do not have a team yet, what type of team members are you looking for?
  
  
  If fewer than 5 teams are registered for Mini MASH as of April 20th, we likely will not hold the event in 2009.   Teams are considered registered when payment has been received.   Please see registration form for additional info.
