Philosophy
There's more to life than adventure racing, but whatever that "more" is can wait!
Life is short... Make it an adventure and challenge yourself!!

Goals
When everyone who has visited this site completes at least one adventure race, our work will be done!   Okay, maybe that's not totally realistic.   But if we can get people out there for an adventure race, then another, and another; we're confident they'll be hooked.

If people have questions about adventure racing, we want to help answer those questions.
If people want to get better at adventure racing, we want to help them do so.

In short, our goals are to do what we can to promote adventure racing, to continue fielding a full range of teams at various races, to continue giving back to the sport and the community, and to have as much fun as we can along the way.

What We Do
As we've evolved, we're now finding ourselves wandering into activities that reach beyond competing in adventure races and all the fun/work that goes into those.   These activities usually have direct ties to adventure racing and have come in the form of clinics, training sessions, expo's, volunteer work, social gatherings (a.k.a. parties where we consume large quantities of food/drink to help sustain our adventure racing "problem"), and single discipline races such as canoe races.

In 2007 we got our feet wet directing adventure races with the help of teams Master Lock and Vyster.   Since that time, we've expanded to hosting multiple races yearly and are having a great time providing exciting, fun, and challenging events for all those who have the drive to go for it.

History
Since Ya Mule's inception in 2000, the group has grown significantly in both size and ambition.   From a team of four friends who aspired to "just finish" a race, we've become an organization that has fielded as many as six teams at various events.

With Madison, WI as our home base, we're fortunate to be surrounded by a large number of people who love the outdoors and are often looking for new ways to enjoy it.   Once we get these people out there, they usually come back for more.

We've also realized the importance of giving back to the community and often look for opportunities that are in some way related to adventure racing.   Whether it's volunteering for activities or using proceeds from events to contribute to worthy causes, we've found there is no shortage of ways to help out while also creating an increased awareness of adventure racing.

Even though we've experienced strong growth, we think it's only the tip of the iceberg.   Why not join us for the adventure of getting at the rest of that iceberg?!

Oh, and what about the name "Ya Mule"?   Where did that come from??   Well, we can't really divulge that kind of valuable information too easily!   But we can at least provide a hint...   Take a look at the early years of Event history.

Questions?   Concerns?   Fan mail?? (It could happen!)
Try emailing one of the following four Mules.
If they can't help, they'll find someone who can.
(Disclaimer: Must be related to adventure racing!).
